• Proposed a governance model for a software developer preparing to move from development services within its holding group to external product sales. Management agreed to build the system in stages.

• Implemented the employee-created IP process with HR and project and product managers. Work on the wider governance system is ongoing.

Independent Legal Practice - Founder

• Run an independent practice for manufacturing, construction and technology businesses, coordinating owners, Finance, technical colleagues and external specialists.
• Provided ongoing support to an industrial contracting group until November 2024. At one stage, handled day-to-day legal matters for six companies, including tenders and contract performance.
• Negotiated with subcontractors and the client organisation during pandemic disruption, including revised deadlines; dealt with staff access permits, logistics problems and delivery delays.

Combined sole legal responsibility with project coordination across construction, manufacturing, healthcare and other business lines.

• Took a small clinic through premises approvals, licensing and opening. Mapped tasks and dependencies, checked staff credentials, arranged training and handled equipment selection and purchasing with the chief physician's approval. The clinic opened with eight staff.
• Organised the launch of an industrial-safety assessment business, including specialist training and examinations, equipment readiness and licensing. The first licence was secured on the initial submission, in time for the planned work.
• Worked with an external land-law specialist on land-use approvals and resident consultation for a sports complex before construction began.
